Haiti: Day 1 – March 2012

19 Mar

Two thirds of the Haiti team has landed in country.  The guys (Jesse, Remington, Grayson and Cole) are all here and settled in at the Mission of Hope of Haiti.  However, our lovely lady teammates took the long way here, of no fault of their own.  We were behind the curve checking in and Katherine and Emily were bumped to a later flight.  That means they will be spending this evening in Fort Lauderdale and arriving in Haiti tomorrow morning.  Hopefully they will have wonderfully adventurous stories to tell us when they arrive.

Besides being forced to abandon the girls in Northwest Arkansas, the guys had an uneventful trip.  All of our connecting flights were on time.  Our layovers were short but not too short.  It was weird to think arriving here, that in less than 12 hours we went from NWA to the poorest country in the western hemisphere.

The Mission of Hope is pretty incredible.  Just the opening introduction to MOHH has been very impressive.  Tomorrow we will get a much bigger picture of how God is working through them here.
