Katherine, and I have arrived safely to Haiti and have joined the rest of our group! Thank you for all the prayers. A brief synopsis of what happened was, we were split from our flight leaving XNA and rerouted. We ended up going through Chicago and staying the night in Fort Lauderdale, taking an early flight to Haiti this morning. We arrived at our campus at Mission of Hope and were reunited with our team, who was just as excited to see us as we were them!
Today we toured some of the 60 acre campus at Mission of Hope. We got to see the schools where they teach the 63 orphans that live here on site, a few other sites here, and their church. Also this afternoon we, along with the other groups here which adds up to about 130 people, bused to a city nearby called Simonett. There we split up with our different translators into groups. We spread out around their community to spread the Gospel to them, and just love on them and show them Christ’s love. It was a very unique experience not being able to fully communicate, or at all if the translator was helping someone else. God can use many different ways for his glory, you could sometimes just smile and the kids would come and play with you. They were very friendly, and open to us sharing the gospel with them, or just praying over them. It was such a praise that God opened their hearts for us, to allow us to share with them. I know our group in particular was able to lead a woman to Christ this afternoon, and I’m sure a few of the other groups had similar stories. Please be praying for our new sister in Christ, her name is Frantz!
As for the rest of the evening we have a devotional, and a team meeting to gather thoughts from the day and share stories about our travels. We will not know the schedule for the upcoming days until the day of; we are looking forward to seeing what God has planned for us!
Please be specifically praying for our perseverance for our team as our bodies grow more exhausted that we will trust in God to help bring us through the week. Also please be praying for Katherine, and myself as we are trying to recuperate from our days of travel while still giving it our all here in Haiti.
Thanks, and God Bless!
