It’s crazy to think we only have a few more days here in the Amazon. In some ways it feels like home here. After we got back to Leticia from the villages, we have been trying to figure out how to make the most of our time left. We met up with a guy that works for an organization called Amazon Xpedition who wanted some help with an aquaponics system. (If you aren’t sure what that is, you should look it up on Google or something). We ended up going to Brazil for a couple days to set one up, which was cool with the World Cup going on there. The place we were at is about a thirty minute boat ride from Leticia, then a twenty minute drive, then a thirty to forty five minute hike through the mud into the rainforest. We got to spend some of that night with the workers who are from Peru because it’s cheaper. They were mostly all solid believers and it was encouraging to talk with them.We stayed out there one night and mostly just cleared some land with machetes and planted posts along the property line the next day. Then we went to a town in Brazil to a missionary’s house and hung out there for the afternoon and evening. We helped him clear out some land for a pond and some other stuff the next day. We got back to Leticia on Sunday and we will just be relaxing and debriefing the remainder of the trip. Thank you all for your prayers and support.
See you soon!
