Boulder – March 2015, Day 2

24 Mar

Today, we picked up rocks and put them in buckets. Actually, it was a lot less glamorous than it sounds. We were serving members of The Well and their neighbors by cleaning their houses and yards. We cleaned the house of a pregnant woman who was due in a week and had just moved into her home and some leaders from the Well. We are going back tomorrow to finish up. Looking around today, it was so cool to see everyone giving their all through service for God. No one was slacking. After that, we made a cake for Daniel (Happy Birthday!).

We served at Calvary Baptist Church, through the Well, and hosted a parents night out, helping in the nursery with over 35 crazy children. They were both kids of The Well members and kids coming from the neighborhoods surrounding them. All of the parents said they were so thankful to us, and in devotional, Mr. Smith reminded us that we serve to give glory to God and bless those around us.

Today was a great day of service. I’m making it a personal goal to do my best not to complain the whole week. Serving today made me realize that there are people who have less than us, and when we serve them, we serve God. I can’t wait for tomorrow and the rest of the week. Thank you for your prayers!

You probably never will know how much those simple things blessed lives but God does. 🙂 Keep up the work for Him!
